Exhibition by Orbis

Date:
25 Feb 2019 - 1 Mar 2019
Time:
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Venue:
Outside LT-K

Orbis is organizing a roadshow at HKUST to promote blindness awareness through their exhibition panels, VR tour of the Flying Eye Hospital and a video game on blind experience. Being aware of blindness and vision loss means making an effort to ensure everyone has the equal opportunity to access to resources, support and facilities within the community, and understanding how to communicate and interact with people with visual impairment.

About Orbis

Orbis is a nonprofit organization that works to prevent and treat blindness through hands-on training, public health education, and improved access to quality eye care, advocacy and partnerships with local health care organizations.

Transforming lives through training, research and advocacy, Orbis enables individuals to see a world of wonder, opening doors for communities to build a brighter tomorrow. As pioneers in global eye health, the Orbis story began with the Flying Eye Hospital, a fully-equipped mobile teaching hospital. There are long-term programs in countries including Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, India, South Africa, Vietnam and Zambia – with additional programs in parts of Latin America and the Caribbean.
