Joint-U Barrier-free Discovery Tour 2020 (Taiwan)

This is an Initiative about inclusive traveling and self-advocacy. SEN Support is co-organizing this tour with the Hong Kong Baptist University to bring 12 students to experience the inclusiveness and accessibility in Taiwan thorough self-exploration and peer supports. Successful applicants will need to attend a half-day training before departure, complete the 4-day-3-night tour in Taipei and a group project to share findings with the campus and society communities.

 

Composition of the Initiative

  1. Training & Briefing session in the afternoon of 23 December, 2019 (Mon)
  2. 4-day-3-night Tour in Taipei on 7 – 10 January, 2020 (Dark Experience Workshop, Barrier free discovery visit by inclusive tour guide in wheelchair, Study Tour and exchange with the National Taiwan Normal University and Handcraft workshop)
  3. Project Work to Promote Inclusive Traveling to own campuses by 31 March, 2020

 

Eligibility

  1. Current full-time HKUST and HKBU students declared with SEN / registered as Peer Counselor (HKUST) / Inclusive Ambassador (HKBU) on UGC funded programmes aged over 18 by the time of travel.
  2. Holder of valid traveling passport allowed to enter Taiwan with validity till 31 July 2020.
  3. Priority will be given to non-final-year students
  4. Priority will be given to those with good command of spoken Putonghua.

Interested students please complete the application form and return it to the collection box in SEN Support, Room 5022, Dean of Students' Office, 5/F, lift 3 no later than 5:30 p.m., 31 October, 2019 (Thu).
