This workshop is designed by The Hong Kong PHAB Association, aiming at introducing the basic principles of Universal Design as a solution to community inclusion, including for addressing the needs of people with disabilities and the aging issues. Participants of the workshop will be engaged in interactive activities and personal sharing to learn about the concepts and the practice of Universal Design in the International standards and in Hong Kong, as well as how people with disabilities tackle their daily life challenges in creative ways.

 

Students who enroll to and complete this “Universal Design 101” workshop will gain 1.5 hours for the “Wellness & Personal Enrichment” module of the HLTH1010 requirement.

 

Light lunch meal will be served. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own cup for a free drink (coffee, tea or chocolate).

Due to cancellation of class and suspension of work as impacted by Severe Typhoon Mangkhut, this event is scheduled from 17 Sep 2018 to 24 Sep 2018. Students and colleagues who have enrolled up for the originally scheduled schedule are automatically enrolled to the newly scheduled session. About “Empowerment through DiversAbility”

It offers a series of learning opportunities featuring topics about various disabilities and abilities; and is organized by the DiversAbility Team, Student Affairs Office, every academic year for students, faculty and staff members of the University.
